On Tuesday, January 31st, 2023, NGO INNOVARTE co-organized together with the National Institute of Health of Peru and Acción Internacional para la Salud (AIS) Peru, the seminar “Technology Transfer and C-TAP Opportunities”.
The event began with welcoming remarks by Victor Suarez Moreno, Head of the National Institute of Health, who gave way to presentations by representatives of technology transfer offices from Peru, Chile and Ecuador.
The first presentation was given by Cristián Palomino Pacheco, Executive Director of the Office of Technology Transfer and Training of the National Institute of Health, who discussed the different innovation processes carried out by the INS, as well as the training area and its work in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Following the INS presentation, it was the turn of Dr. Gaspar Morgado, Deputy Director of Technological Innovation at the University of Chile, who discussed his office’s innovation process, its licensing and technology transfer system, as well as its recent collaboration with the COVID-19 Access Pool, a WHO initiative that has been in operation since 2020.
Finally, the last presentation was given by Lila Bravo, Head of the Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer Unit of the Catholic University of Cuenca in Ecuador. Her presentation focused on the diverse technologies that the center has developed over the last few years and its innovation process.
