SEE THE INTERVENTION HERE:

Thank you Madam President, Mr. Director General.

Innovarte is a Latin American NGO that advises on intellectual property for development.

The success of the WIPO Marrakesh Treaty proves the importance of reaching consensus to guarantee the rights of users of intellectual property. We urge to retake the spirit of Marrakech to advance in the protection of access to health, education, research and preservation.

We also urge work to protect artists and other creators, to whom the benefits of intellectual property do not reach fairly due to the practices of global digital platforms and other intermediaries.

Balance is essential to achieve the objective of promoting innovation and creativity in harmony with the human right to participate in cultural and scientific life.

Innovarte remains attentive to collaborate constructively with Member States and the Secretariat. Thank you very much.
