The II Seminar on Pandemic Preparedness Treaty: Opportunity for Latin America, organized by Innovarte ONG together with the Center for Regulation and Competition of the Law School of the University of Chile and its Department of Economic Law, held on June 29, 2023 in hybrid mode, was successfully concluded.
The event, which aimed to discuss a future treaty on pandemics in the context of the negotiations convened by the WHO, was attended by important speakers on the subject such as: Christian García (Head of the Department of Epidemiology MINSAL); Dra. Viviana Muñoz Téllez (South Centre); Natalia Echegoyemberry (Coordinator of the Pandemic Preparedness and Prevention Group of People’s Vaccine Alliance for Latin America and the Caribbean; Ricardo Matute (Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Chile and Health Officer of the Chilean Mission in Geneva); Carolina El Debs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Brazil); Dra. María Juliana Tenorio (Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Colombia); James Love (Director of Knowledge Ecology International); Sangeeta Shashikant (Third World Network); José Luis Cárdenas (International Association of Generic and Biosimilar Medicines); Pedro Villardi (International Representative of Public Services); Jaime Gallegos (Department of Economic Law U. of Chile); Francisco Agüero (REGCOM, U. of Chile) and the Director of Innovarte, Luis Villarroel.
